Polyurethane tubing (TPU) is a flexible, very tough, abrasion and cut resistant plastic. It is available in natural (transparent amber cast), custom colors. It is available in hardnesses from flexible to semi-rigid.
There are two types of TPUs:
• Polyester based TPU - Better physical characteristics and resistant to fuels and oils.
• Polyether based TPU - Better for use with water or high humidity.
Our Polyurethane tubing is available in polyether and polyester, both with optimum abrasion resistance, high tensile strength and low-temperature flexibility. Neither contain plasticizers, so migration is not a problem. Polyester types give maximum abrasion resistance and good oil, solvent and grease resistance. Polyether is resistant to hydrolysis, fungus and weathering. Both materials meet FDA requirements.

Durable and heat resistant, this clarity grade polypropylene is ideal for the transfer of hot liquids or gases, or where higher temperatures and pressures are expected. Normally recommended for vacuum systems, it also has excellent resistance to acids and alkalies, but poor resistance aromatic, aliphatic and chlorinated solvents. Manufactured from raw materials meeting FDA requirements. Color: Semi-opaque white.

Insulation Plastics can provide rubber tubing extruded to size and cut to length by various methods depending on tolerances required. High precision tolerance parts are mandrel-cured, the O.D. ground to size and lathe-cut to precise length. Coarser tolerances may be simple extrusion, high-speed or guillotine cut.
